American Gods

NEW Genre: Fantasy drama Available: Monday 11 Jan Season: 3 Episodes: 10 (released weekly) TVSW says: Taking the show in a new direction

Lakeside, Wisconsin, is a town where residents enjoy uneventful lives. In fact, it’s the perfect place for a demigod to hide from his enemies…

Season three of American Gods continues Neil Gaiman’s battle between the Old Gods of mythology and the New Gods of technology and celebrity.

After Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) was falsely accused of being a terrorist in the last season, he’s lying low to escape the New Gods, and enjoying a taste of a regular existence.

‘This is the first time we see Shadow among humans,’ says Whittle. ‘He loves it because a normal life is all he’s ever wanted. So here he is with his hair and beard grown out, hiding from the FBI and the Gods. He’s working a nine-to-five job and has an eye on a local girl – and he’s enjoying it.’

The idyllic lifestyle doesn’t last long, though. Shadow soon finds himself batting off unwanted attention after an awful event shocks the community.
