NEW FANTASY DRAMA
The Green Knight
From Friday 24 September, Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video takes us back to the myths and magic of King Arthur’s Britain this week with its visually stunning swords-and sorcery saga The Green Knight.
Based on the legend of Arthur’s noble-born nephew Gawain, the film stars Slumdog Millionaire actor Dev Patel as the young adventurer who embarks on a dangerous quest to battle a formidable foe.
However, when we first meet Gawain, he’s the complete opposite of a chivalrous knight of the Round Table.
‘We find him in a brothel at the start of the film, and he’s got quite the attitude,’ reveals Patel. ‘He’s spoilt and headstrong and you watch him make a lot of mistakes. Whereas in the original story, he’s very chaste and honorable from the get-go, in this version he has a lot to prove.’
