NEW ENTERTAINMENT
Britain’s Got Talent Sat, 8pm, & Easter Sun, 7.35pm, ITV
After sadly being postponed last spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, much-loved ITV show Britain’s Got Talent makes a welcome return to our screens this week.
The stage is set as, once again, a whole host of weird, wonderful and super-talented acts audition at the London Palladium in front of judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams for the chance to perform at this year’s Royal Variety Performance and win a £250,000 cash prize.
According to hosts Ant and Dec, the show is bigger and better than ever.
‘There was a real renewed excitement when we all got back together again and being at the London Palladium with an actual audience was great,’ says Dec.
Here, they reveal what’s in store…
This is BGT’s 15th series. Did being away for a year have any impact on the talent that auditioned?
Dec We had some acts who’d only met in the last two years and had rehearsed over Zoom. It was very moving that they’d used a horrible time to create something positive. This one feels like a really special series. As always with BGT, we never know whether the next act to audition is going to be bonkers or a global superstar.
