Sunday & Monday, BBC1 HD, 9 pm

The team behind Line of Duty and Bodyguard look to have another hit on their hands this week as they head beneath the waves in a nerve-jangling new conspiracy thriller, Vigil, set aboard a nuclear submarine.

In the six-part drama, which explodes onto our screens with a double bill, Suranne Jones plays DCI Amy Silva, who’s tasked with investigating the death of a crew member on HMS Vigil.

Submariner Craig Burke died in his bunk of an apparent overdose. However, Amy believes his death could be linked to the mysterious disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler, which was dragged beneath the waves in terrifying circumstances just hours before.
