IN A DESPERATE, last-minute effort to stop President Trump from declaring Iran in violation of the nuclear weapons deal, a group of Obama appointees set up National Security Adviser Mike Flynn to force him out.

Flynn had advocated sanctions against Iran due to its recent testing of ballistic missiles, in violation of the agreement, while other Trump officials were taking a more conciliatory line.

The turncoats’ efforts succeeded and Flynn was forced to resign, eliminating a key official who has pushed a hawkish line on Iran. How did it happen?
