The device is based on the science that proves the human body excretes a variety of scent compounds through the breath.
Illnesses such as diabetes, lung cancer, and Parkinson’s disease, for example, all produce distinct odorous molecules, called disease biomarkers, in the breath.
But the type of scent compound and its proportion varies with the disease.
