Sweden Got Style - Meet Blogger Umit Obeyd
FSHN Magazine|Summer Fashion Issue 2016

"Less is more" is the best way to describe the fashion scene in Sweden. It does not mean that there is any lack of creativity at all as it can be seen with this month's blogger Umit Obeyd (@umitobeyd). His tasteful style is the product of an almost practical and yet trend following approach to fashion. Followed by almost 80k people on Instagram, this personal trainer gone blogger always has a cool look to present without needing a blog. His styles are easy to reproduce, which may be the secret of his success.

Although his schedule was very busy so close to fashion week season, Umit took some time out to tell the FSHN readers a bit about himself, his view on blogging and fashion.

Sweden Got Style - Meet Blogger Umit Obeyd

FSHN: What encouraged you to start blogging? And when did you start?

UO: I started in 2013. Actually, I wasn’t so into the blogging thing, I never had ambitions to get more likes or followers. I just used to share pictures of my everyday life first, then I started to post pictures of my outfits and I realized that my pictures got more and more attention and many big accounts started to post my pictures, which gave me a lot of followers. Then I started to get several collaboration inquiries, many brands started to email me or wrote to me on DM asking me about promoting their brand. Nowadays I use Instagram more for promoting brands.

FSHN: What type of men do you address with your images? Who are your average followers?

UO: Those who have a passion for fashion, like to stay classy and idolize men like George Clooney and David Beckham – as I do.

FSHN: Can you describe your personal style? How do your roots influence your way of dressing?
