Founder of Surrey Art School, Ellie Green, combines creativity within a community to enhance wellbeing. She offers a creative menu of clubs, classes and workshops at her creative sanctuary in Newdigate as, well as seasonal events in the Surrey Hills in collaboration with The Salt Box and Surrey Hills Wellness. Classes include learning to draw, sketchbook club, calligraphy, printmaking, and watercolor for you to learn anew or to improve existing skills, leaving you with a glorious feeling of wellbeing. “Eatercolour as an incredibly calming process, the classes are very gentle,” she says. “The technical processes that take your attention have a very calming effect on your body. We learn the stages slowly and mindfully.” Ellie describes a “flow state” when time just evaporates during her art classes, “slowing down and noticing what the materials do being in that moment”.
