We explore Somerset County Cricket Club’s ‘unique’ qualities.
THERE is something about Somerset County Cricket Club that perhaps sets it apart from the other 17 first class counties involved in the English domestic game.
Not only is the Cooper Associates County Ground situated in the heart of Taunton, but it is at the very heart of the county town.
There are few other towns in England that host the first class game, where summer or winter if you walk into any of the pubs or coffee shops, nearly everybody will be talking about cricket.
Somerset County Cricket Club is at the very centre of the Taunton community and as such is held in high esteem by everyone in the town.
