LEARN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
The brain works best when it is challenged, so put it to great use by learning a new language. There are so many free or paid for online courses, as well as personal tutors and classes, that finding a course isn’t going to be difficult – deciding on which language to learn might be.
TRAVELLING
Why learn a new language if you’re not going to put it to good use? Take inspiration from all the jet setting students on their gap years and head on the road less travelled. With lots of holiday companies specialising in seniors only holidays, you could travel with others your age and enjoy taking the hard work out of knowing where to visit. Or if you were looking to really get away from it all, get online and do your research into the less well known exotic locations and spend time with a loved one or on your own, exploring other cultures at your own pace.
