Three-part harmony

Emillie and Beth Key grew up close to their cousin Meghann Loney in a very musical family.

The girls’ mums, who are sisters, used to write and perform together and it was only natural that their daughters should follow suit.

“When we were growing up things like Christmas and family events revolved around music and it was actually in church was where we first started playing,” says Meghann.

“And our Nanna helped organised choir concerts and she sings and writes songs too,” adds Emillie. In this tuneful environment the three girls started singing together, creating beautiful harmonies inevitably enhanced by their close personal bonds. “We used to do the harmonies for fun,” says Meghann, “joining in with songs on the radio, jingles, adverts, even the doorbell. To us and our family it was very normal. So taking that out into the performing world was not that big a deal for us.”
