What makes a house a home?

Louise: A home is somewhere you can relax after a hectic day; many of our customers are busy professionals who need to create a space that is tranquil, practical and stylish.

Alex: A home also needs to be personal and represent you and your taste. We work very closely with our clients and everything we make is tailored specifically to suit them, whether it’s a pair of curtains, a sofa or a full house refurb.

What design advice would you offer to someone who has just purchased a new home?

Alex: Think realistically, plan what you want to achieve throughout the property and plan to tackle each room individually. Decide which is the priority. Louise: It is sensible to consider the functionality of your new home, often clients choose to start in the main living and entertaining areas and let this guide the direction of the entire house. This helps us build a strong working relationship and gather a really good sense of a client’s style preferences for other rooms.

What is the first element of a scheme to consider when redesigning a room?
