Reims is so close to Paris that in less than an hour on the TGV, you’ll be tipping back bubbles. Staying longer? You’ll find a great food scene and some serious history lessons.
HOW TO GET THERE
Budget 45 minutes from the Gare de l’Est in Paris to downtown Reims, with high-speed trains leaving regularly throughout the day. (You can buy tickets at sncf.com before you land in France.) If you’re coming from the States or elsewhere in Europe, you’re better off taking the train directly from Charles de Gaulle Airport—it’s about 30 minutes to the ultra-modern Gare Champagne- Ardenne; from there, it’s a ten-minute cab ride to downtown Reims.
