Accent colour, hero pieces and a fabulous new extension turned one tired house into a vibrant forever home for Kate Thompson and family.
When Kate Thompson and her husband Dan decided to move out of London in 2009, Surrey seemed a good choice. Not only did they need a bigger home for their small children, Tallulah, then nearly two, and Beatrice, six months. They still needed an easy commute to the City, where they both worked – Kate as a home move specialist and Dan as a commodity broker. “We loved living in leafy Barnes, having both been in London for over 15 years but realised to get our forever home, we needed to move further out. Friends suggested Woking but neither of us knew it well. Initially we weren’t keen, but once we looked at the trains we realised we could leave home later and still get to work on time,” says Kate.
