HP’S POWERFUL notebook computers have been kicking around for a while, but the arrival of Ryzen 4000 has meant that new models needed to hit the home offices. We’ve got our hands on the EliteBook 845 G7, which packs a fierce octa-core Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U processor. Pricing varies significantly with this laptop, as there are numerous SKUs.
That’s the most powerful chip AMD has to offer in the professional Ryzen range, promising up to 21 percent better average performance compared to the non-pro 4700U you’ll see in more conventional laptops. Performance against Intel chips is a bit less clear, although AMD insists that the 4750U should comfortably beat the similarly powerful i7-10710U in both multi-threaded and graphical tests.
Speaking of graphics, this EliteBook uses Radeon Vega integrated graphics that have a surprising amount of oomph for a compact notebook. In practice, the 4750U blew our zero-point notebook out of the water, dominating multi-core benchmarks and managing to scrape by in 1080p gaming with settings at low to medium. No, you won’t be playing Cyberpunk 2077 on this, but it can handle a few rounds of Fortnite or 2D indie titles.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Super
LONG AGO, before the reign of the Supers, there was a graphics card. It was bold, gauche, and built with the blood of a Titan, with gaming in mind. Its heart was near identical to the goliath it was born from, yet it lacked the memory, spirit, absolute architectural majesty, and subsequent price tag of its Titanic kin.
