£86.56 (upgrade for £70.91) FROM Adobe, adobe.com/uk NEEDS macOS 10.15 or later
Thanks to our ever-present iPhone and its superb camera, we’re likely to record more video clips than ever before, leading to the problem of organising and sharing our favourite footage. As a simplified version of Adobe’s Premiere Pro, Premier Elements 2022 is an entry-level non-linear editor (NLE) that’s designed to help video makers trim, fix and share their video footage as eye-catching clips and sequences that will generate those endorphin inducing ‘likes’ on sites such as Twitter and Instagram.
If Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements are brother and sister apps, Elements Organiser is the parent. The Organiser enables you to view clips and images in one place and organise them using tools such as keywords and albums. All three apps are accessible from a handy welcome page. You don’t need to own Photoshop Elements to enjoy using the Organiser as it ships with Premiere Elements (though you can buy both Premiere and Photoshop Elements together for a discount of £130.36 – or upgrade them for £107.41).
Workspace base
There’s no noticeable difference to Premiere Elements 2022’s light grey workspace compared with earlier incarnations, which will be comforting to those already using older versions. If you’re familiar with Photoshop Elements, Premiere Elements will also look similar thanks to the same Quick, Guided and Expert workspaces.
