Get rid of duplicate tracks

1 Folders for playlists If you have lots of playlists, you can create folders for them.

2 List songs Click the header above each column to change the way tracks are listed – eg by Title, Artist or Genre.

3 Delete tracks ≈-click on any song and choose Delete from Library to remove it.

4 Play count The number of times you've played a song can help you decide which version of a song to delete.

It’s been 20 years since Apple launched the iPod. At the time, the only way to get music onto the device was to rip your own CDs or download tracks from one of the fledgling download services and add them to iTunes manually. Over the years, iTunes evolved, opening its own download store in 2003 and allowing you to upload your own tracks to iCloud in 2013. Then came Apple Music streaming, and finally, the replacement of iTunes with the Apple Music app on the Mac.
