For many musicians, 2020 was a bit of a year to forget: cancelled gigs and tours, delayed releases, public polls telling us art has little value in the era of the pandemic. But there have been blessings too.
I’m an electronic musician and producer but I also work as a music facilitator. Even during the first lockdown period I was very fortunate to be able to keep working with young people in an online capacity. The Zoom app has been a saviour for many of us working from home in this period, and for the musician with the home studio set up, it’s been no different.
