AS YOU get older and the rose tinted spectacles are discarded, you start to see the world in all its frailty. You see illness and terrorist attacks and death and realise how precious life is. Each day, you start to become more grateful for what you have and what all you didn’t have to go through in order to get where you are today. The best thing that you can do for your children, is to instil a sense of gratitude early on. It is important for your little ones to understand that it is not just a value or a moral lesson, but that instead, it is a life skill, a mindset—something that will help them navigate this imperfect world and hopefully lead more fulfilled, happier lives.
