No one puts Jennifer Grey in the corner. Nearly 35 years after she shot to fame as Frances “Baby” Houseman in Dirty Dancing, the actress, 62, is telling all in her new memoir, the aptly titled Out of the Corner. Sharing her story now was extremely cathartic. In the past, she says, she felt she'd been put in corners, “but once I started writing, I realized there were so many things I did choose.”

THE TRUTH ABOUT Me and Patrick

Jennifer had sizzling chemistry with Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing. But off-screen, they struggled to get along, and there was "tension" and "friction," she writes in her memoir. According to producer Linda Gottlieb: "He felt like she was a wimp. She was genuine, naive; you would do a take eight times and Jennifer would do it differently every time. Patrick was a pro; he would deliver the same thing again and again. She would cry easily, she was emotional, and he sort of made fun of her. He was a macho guy." They "just didn't click," adds a source, "and Jennifer regrets that now." Patrick died of pancreatic cancer at age 57 in 2009, "and she never got closure."
