Time To Party

The Governors Ball was the first stop for winners. Laura Dern had her trophy engraved with her family in tow, Renée Zellweger gazed lovingly at her new hardware while toting a wine glass and Brad Pitt sipped on a soft drink and snacked on the Wolfgang Puck-created offerings like taro root tacos and smoked salmon Oscar statues as he waited his turn. Best Actor Joaquin Phoenix first made a pit stop in Los Angeles’ Koreatown to grab a takeaway from plant-based restaurant Monty’s Good Burger with fiancée Rooney Mara (who changed into high-top sneakers).

Another hot ticket for the night was Elton John’s annual viewing party, hosted by the Queer Eye cast and which raised more than $9.5 million for AIDS charities. As guests watched the ceremony, the singer slipped out to perform and then pick up his Oscar for Best Original Song.
