This rising star is breaking the hollywood ‘it girl’ mould, one hit at a time
The World According To Beanie

You may recognise Beanie Feldstein as the ‘lovable best friend’ from many movies – after all, playing a film lead’s right-hand woman is how the young star built a name for herself, most notably in Greta Gerwig’s 2017, Oscar-nominated film Lady Bird.

But now, the fresh-faced 26-year-old is about to hit the big time after landing the leading role in How to Build a Girl, the much-anticipated adaptation of British writer Caitlin Moran’s semi-autobiographical novel. The film has already won over audiences in the US after premiering on Amazon earlier this month, and while there’s no Australian release date as yet, Feldstein will pop up on our screens later this year as Monica Lewinsky in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming series American Crime Story: Impeachment.

The younger sister of Oscar-nominated star Jonah Hill, and the daughter of showbiz parents – mum Sharon is a costume designer and dad Richard an accountant for Guns N’ Roses – Feldstein was perhaps destined for the spotlight. But tragically, she and her family made headlines for other reasons in 2017, when her eldest brother Jordan, who was Maroon 5’s manager, died suddenly from a heart attack.
