Pandemic-permitting, Frost has plans to head Down Under next year, where she hopes to do live events. “I want to really give Australian families an opportunity to converse with me in a one-on-one experience,” she tells WHO.

Parenting in a pandemic has been a minefield for a lot of people, something Jo Frost knows all too well. The parenting expert has consulted with more than 1000 parents, children and caretakers by video conference since March, doling out much needed guidance for life at home during quarantine.

But the 50-year-old insists the craziness of 2020 could also be seen as a positive for many families. “I keep saying it’s like Mother Nature put us on the naughty step and said, ‘Why are you still doing this? OK, well, then you can sit there in a time out,’” she jokes of her popular discipline technique. “Mother Nature made us stop – all of us. We had to start prioritising what was important, like truly spending quality time together.”

When WHO caught up with Frost via phone from her home in Orange County, California, it had recently been announced the TV star is joining Channel Nine’s new show The Parent Jury in 2021.
