MEL B ‘I NEED HELP'

Melanie Brown, aka Mel B, has begged her ex-partner Eddie Murphy for more child support for their daughter, after telling a court she would go bankrupt if she was forced to pay her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte’s legal fees. In September, the singer, 45, was ordered to pay almost $700,000 in legal and accounting fees to Belafonte, also 45, but has now asked a judge to lower the sum.

“I will effectively be insolvent and will in all likelihood have to file for bankruptcy,” she said in court documents. “I simply do not have the ability to pay such an exorbitant sum.”

While Brown is no stranger to being broke – she admitted to having just $2000 in her bank account following her 2017 divorce from Belafonte in her tell-all autobiography – the star says her financial situation is now dire. She’s had to give up her attempts to bring daughter Madison, 9, to the UK from Los Angeles because she can’t afford to continue her legal battle with her ex, who wants full custody.
