Lisa Wilkinson TIME FOR THE TRUTH

While it’s very difficult to measure the true extent of sexual assault in Australia, with an overwhelming number of incidences going unreported, it’s estimated that two million adults had experienced at least one sexual assault since the age of 15, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. And on October 10, The Project host Lisa Wilkinson bravely opened up about the sexual assault she suffered as a teenager.

After first revealing the shocking story in an interview with Stellar magazine, the 61-year-old later divulged more details while on The Sunday Project. Speaking to co-host Hamish Macdonald, Wilkinson explained the trauma she endured at the hands of a school friend’s father – who, even more shockingly, was also a friend of her own father, Raymond.
