They’ve spent the past month blissfully soaking up the sun while holidaying in Hawaii. And finally, the real reason for Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s romantic trip has been revealed – the stars have secretly tied the knot! The singer, 36, showed off her gold wedding band while popping into a coffee shop on the island with her new hubby on March 16. And an insider close to the couple revealed to US OK! magazine that Perry has never been happier than now with her 44-year-old British beau.
“There have been some very low moments, and Katy’s had to kiss a lot of frogs before she found her prince,” the source explains. “But she has no regrets because it all led her to where she is today.”
And while the path to their happy ending hasn’t always been smooth – the pair split in February 2017 and got back together a year later – Perry and Bloom now know they can face anything that life throws at them. “They have a healthy, communicative relationship. And best of all, he lets Katy just be herself,” the source adds.
Perry and Bloom jetted off to Hawaii with a small group of their extended family members and their gorgeous daughter Daisy Dove, 7 months, in February. Bloom’s son Flynn, 10, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, 37, also joined the family trip.
Having the chance to finally say “I do” must have been a welcome relief for the couple, who were forced to call off the lavish ceremony they had originally planned in Japan while Perry was pregnant due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“You can’t plan anymore in 2020 because those plans are always cancelled,” the ‘Firework’ singer told British newspaper The Mirror at the time. “Everyone has to take life one week at a time right now,” she added.
