READING RITUAL

Ashley Graham sets her morning intention by reading an excerpt from her favourite books before she gets out of bed. "I have this awesome book and, in the contents, it has all these different words, like anxiety, loneliness, comfort, conversation. You look up the word that you're feeling in the moment," the model said in a video for Elle.

We all know those people who get up at 5am for a run and a smoothie, starting their day before the sun’s up, while the rest of us set four different alarms just so we don’t sleep in.

While the 5am starters sound like overachievers, what if we told you that a morning ritual could do you some good?

Though you don’t need to walk in the footsteps of Victoria Beckham and down two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and a green juice every morning, there’s nothing wrong with establishing a small routine to start your day.

To help kickstart your mornings, author Jacqui Lewis offers her steps for creating a routine to set each day up for success in her new book The 14 Day Mind Cleanse.
