Hilary Duff HOW I TRY TO MOTHER
Around the time Hilary Duff was wrapping up the seventh and final season of the long-running comedy Younger she received a call from her manager about a potential new project. “I heard the title, and I was like, ‘Are you kidding me? What?!’” she told Entertainment Weekly about how she was first approached for the new series How I Met Your Father (airing from March 9 on Disney Plus).

Initially, she had some doubts about tackling the How I Met Your Mother reboot, intimidated to take on a standalone spin-off of the beloved sitcom, which ran for nine seasons. After reading the script, however, she was sold. “It was just perfect,” she said. “I signed on board and was like, ‘Yeah, I need five months – I’m having a baby right now.’”

Five months after giving birth to her third child, daughter Mae, she was on the set of HIMYF, in the starring role of Sophie and also as a producer of the series. “It’s so rad watching her kick into that mode,” her husband Matt Koma, a musician and record producer, gushed over his wife on Instagram. “It’s easy to forget when she’s nailing it as a mama bear, wife, family psychologist and chicken lady that she was first an absolute ace at what she was born to do. A really f--king cool magic trick. This show is gonna be epic.”

“I love my kids more than anything” – DUFF
