Harry & Meghan: ‘archie Is Going To Be A Big Brother'

They’ve previously gushed about how having time off during the coronavirus pandemic gave them invaluable time with their young son Archie. And it appears the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have put their extra time at home to good use after announcing they are expanding their family.

“Archie is going to be a big brother,” a spokesperson on behalf of the royal couple confirmed on February 14. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.

Accompanying the happy news was a sweet black and white photo of Meghan, 39, resting her head in Prince Harry’s lap, with both parents unable to hide their joy as they flashed megawatt smiles at each other.

And in a sweet tribute to the prince’s late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, the pair chose Valentine’s Day to share the news. It’s the same day Diana and her then-husband Prince Charles, now 72, announced they were expecting their second child, Harry.

The couple’s happy news comes almost three months after Meghan opened up about suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage over the US summer. “I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second,” she wrote for the New York Times in a personal essay in November. “Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few.”

The announcement – which came just days after it was revealed that Meghan had won her legal privacy battle with a British tabloid – is a sign that things are finally starting to look up for the pair, who have had a turbulent few years since announcing they were stepping down as full-time royals in January 2020.
