Emily Blunt Love, Laughter & Living Her Best Life!

Emily Blunt adored playing a headstrong Irish farmer in love with her neighbour (Jamie Dornan) in her new drama Wild Mountain Thyme but admits there was one major problem:

“I’m wildly allergic to farm animals!” she says with a laugh. “So is Jamie. The both of us were on antihistamines every day.”

Despite the sneezing, Blunt says spending four weeks in the idyllic Irish town of Ballina while making the film in 2019 was a dream come true. “The locals welcomed us with open arms, and we definitely frequented all the pubs,” she says. But the highlight of her time on the Emerald Isle occurred when daughters Hazel, 6, and Violet, 4, with husband John Krasinski, 41, came to visit. “My girls took falconry lessons, and I have pictures of Hazel with owls and kestrels. It was just magic,” she says. “Violet just said to me this morning, ‘I want to go back to Ireland.’”

For now, the family is stationed in London, where Blunt is preparing for her next project, a western for the BBC and Amazon with, yes, lots of horses. “The producers were like, ‘Are you kidding me? You are literally riding a horse every day and you’re allergic to horses?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, but don’t worry, I’ve got these great antihistamines from Jamie Dornan.’”
