CRIMES THAT ROCKED THE NATION

Jamie Lee Dolheguy

Just days after her 21st birthday on October 22, Jamie Lee Dolheguy was sentenced to nine years jail for killing international student Maulin Rathod. Dolheguy met Rathod, 24, on the dating app Plenty of Fish in 2018 and invited him over to her Sunbury house. Little did he know she had searched online “10 steps to commit a murder and get away with it”. Wearing fancy dress, the then 18-year-old strangled the Indian student with the cable from a sex toy. Dolheguy immediately rang police to confess, telling them, “I strangled him. It feels so good.” Found guilty of manslaughter but not murder, the court heard Dolheguy suffered extreme abuse as a child and had severe personality disorder.
