Beaches Off The Beaten Track

SNELLING BEACH, SA

On Kangaroo Island’s north shore lies this tiny pocket of perfection, an inlet of stunning white sand surrounded by clear water and steep dunes. Snelling Beach is accessible by car but still surprisingly deserted most of the year. There are only a few options for accommodation within walking distance. Regular car ferries run from Cape Jervis, two hours south of Adelaide, to Kangaroo Island. From the ferry terminal it’s a short drive to Snelling.

YURAYGIR NATIONAL PARK, NSW

On the north coast of NSW, near the town of Yamba, you’ll find this gem of a national park, a beach lover’s playground of sand and sea. With a 65km stretch of cliffs, headlands, beaches and lakes, it’s a haven for swimmers, hikers, bird-watchers and more. The national park is a 6km drive from Yamba, and 42km from Coffs Harbour.

BREMER ISLAND, NT
