Raised by single mom MaGwala (Lucia Mthiyane) on the outskirts of KwaZuluNatal, Pastor Sambulo Gwala (Menzi Biyela) always knew he was adopted. “He never tried to find his parents because he was happy with how he was raised. He only began to think about it as he was starting on the journey of finding himself,” says Menzi.
And when he discovers who his real father is, his whole world will come crashing down – and even his wedding day will be a disaster.
FROM KZN TO KWAMASHU
Pastor Gwala came to KwaMashu in April after being invited by Zekethelo (Nyalleng Thibedi) who saw a clip of him preaching on Instagram. Zekethelo thought he’d be the perfect person to help her save KwaMashu Kingdom Church (KKC) from Nkunzi’s (Masoja Msiza) evil clutches. Little did he know how much his life would change! Not only did he fall in love with Zekethelo, but he fell so hard that he asks her to marry him. And she says yes!
“Pastor Gwala and Zekethelo jump a lot of dating steps to get to the marriage part – he wants to start a family and fill the gap of growing up without one,” says the actor. “He is a pastor and wants to do everything by the book.”
IT’S ALL IN A DREAM
Meanwhile, MaMlambo (Gugu Gumede), KwaMashu’s prophetess, starts having weird dreams about Pastor Gwala digging up his umbilical cord. One night, she sees the evil Nkunzi in the same dream, also digging for Pastor Gwala’s umbilical cord.
