The guideline of watching international versions of the reality show you’re joining has been thrown out the window by baking star Fritz Schoon, who’s judging the best bakers on season 2 of reality cooking series The Taste Master SA: The Baking Edition along side celebrity TV chef Zola Nene. “I didn’t watch any cooking shows after joining. It’s quite funny because I don’t watch all that much TV to start with and maybe the last thing I’d watch is a cooking show,” says Fritz, whose bread products can be found in select shops and delis around the country. “Because this is my first judging job, I opted to keep myself away from outside influence and to be as original and real as I could. It needs to be an organic experience and viewers will pick up on anything fake or forced onscreen,” adds the 37-year old baker who stumbled on the food industry as a matter of chance.
