RYAN REYNOLDS AND BLAKE LIVELY ARE IN EMERGENCY MODE TRYING TO SAVE THEIR UNION.
Marriage IN CRISIS

Ties that Bind

“There’s a ton of respect on both sides,” says a source of Ryan and Blake (with James and Inez in 2016).

IN November, Ryan Reynolds opened up about taking an extended break from shooting backto-back movies to focus more on life at home with his wife, actress Blake Lively, and their three kids. “I don’t want to miss this time,” said the Deadpool star in the surprising announcement. “You don’t get this time back. And my kids are in school now, so they can’t travel with me to location. I have to be there. So it’s important and I’m super lucky I get to do it.”

Now, insiders tell Star Ryan wasn’t just eager to be around for school dropoff. After nearly 10 years of marriage, he and Blake had hit a roadblock. And the past few months have been makeor-break as they holed up in their N.Y. country home. “Ryan loves making movies, but Blake felt he enjoyed being away on location too much, and it’s something they would fight about,” says one source. Blake, 34, finally issued an ultimatum, telling him to step up to the plate — or else. “Blake gave Ryan a necessary nudge,” says the source. “At this point, they are fighting for their marriage.”

MEETING IN THE MIDDLE

Both believe it’s worth saving. According to the source, the 45-year-old has said he doesn’t want to lose Blake and is committed to making his wife happy. (A rep for the couple dismissed the rumors of any marital trouble.) One major concession he offered: giving the Age of Adaline actress her time to shine. As The Red Notice star said in November, part of his decision to step back from acting “is to allow Blake to do some of the things that she wants to do and get to play in her own sandbox.”
