DIRTY DANCING'S JENNIFER GREY IS OPENING UP LIKE NEVER BEFORE ABOUT HER COSTARS, HER FAMOUS LOVERS AND HER BOTCHED PLASTIC SURGERY.
Jennifer Grey: MY UNTOLD STORY

NOBODY puts baby in the corner! After being cast in her first commercial at age 19, Jennifer Grey went on to star in 1980s classics Red Dawn, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. But she catapulted to stardom as a dance-crazy teen in the beloved 1987 coming-of-age film Dirty Dancing. Her character Baby Houseman is forced by her parents to sit out the much-anticipated dance performance that caps off their vacation at a summer resort. Then Baby is famously pulled from the corner table by her onscreen love, played by the late Patrick Swayze, who utters that immortal line.

These days, Jennifer is the one who is freeing herself. In a no-holds barred tellall fittingly titled Out of the Corner, the 62-year-old is finally lifting the lid on her storied life from her tense off-screen relationship with Patrick to her ill-fated romances with Matthew Broderick and Johnny Depp and the nose job that left her virtually unrecognizable at the height of her career. "Being misunderstood on a global stage was very painful," Jennifer recently said of fame. "I seemed to have felt in the past that I had been put in corners. But once I started writing, I realized there were so many things I did choose."

TOTAL OPPOSITES

It's no secret Jennifer and Patrick weren't the best of friends while filming Dirty Dancing. In his autobiography, Time of My Life, the actor, who died of pancreatic cancer at age 57 in 2009, complained she was "emotional" and would "sometimes burst into tears if someone criticized her." Now, Jennifer says their lack of real-life chemistry created tension on the set. "Our being forced to be together created a kind of a synergy, or like a friction," she's said. Still, an insider says she regrets the bad blood. "If Patrick was alive today, she would tell him how much she appreciated and learned from him."
