GH'S KIRSTEN STORMS ON THE MEND AFTER BRAIN SURGERY
Soap Opera Digest|June 28, 2021
Kirsten Storms (Maxie) is on the mend and recovering at home after undergoing a scheduled brain surgery to drain and remove noncancerous cysts on her brain.

In a series of Instagram stories posted on June 4, she revealed, “I’ve not really spoken about this much, or at all, actually; less than 48 hours ago, I had brain surgery, hence the neck brace. It was on the lower portion of my brain. Emme [Rylan, ex-Lulu] is taking care of me until I get to my at-home nurse. It has been an interesting last couple of days.”

Rylan — Storms’s best friend and fellow knitting aficionado — was sitting in a car with Storms when she recorded her video message and jumped in to say, “I’m going to answer the question that you’re all thinking right now: Does she still like yarn? First thing I asked.” “Yes, I do,” replied Storms. Teased Rylan, “I was going to have them undo it all.” “Let’s see if I can speak a foreign language or something now,” Storms joked.

Storms went on to explain, “What they had to drain and remove was not cancer; I want to clarify that right now before the Internet, like, goes crazy wild with rumors about this. I had a very large cyst that had split into two and the doctor said it was, like, so full, the pressure was very noticeable when they opened up my skull.” She assured fans, “I will be on the mend for the next several weeks. I will be back at work when this is over with.”

REAL-LIFE DAYS DUO'S ENGAGEMENT STORY

Arianne Zucker (Nicole) says she was “pleasantly surprised” when longtime beau Shawn Christian (ex-Daniel, DAYS) popped the question on Father’s Day. “Of course we’ve had conversations about a ring and things like that, but I didn’t really expect him to do the whole thing,” she begins. “I thought, ‘Oh, maybe he’ll just give me a promise ring over dinner someday.’ I literally didn’t think he was going to say what he said or do what he did. It was sort of like, ‘We’re not broke, don’t fix it. We have a great thing going.’ ”

MEET GH'S NEW SPENCER

Nicholas Chavez made his Port Charles debut as Spencer Cassadine on July 1, but the Denver native’s journey to GH actually began back in April, when he sent in a self-tape audition. Shortly thereafter, “My manager reached out and said, ‘Hey, they’d like you to screen-test out in Los Angeles,’ which was amazing news and is kind of unusual in the industry, because it’s usually a self-tape, then an audition and then a callback and then you go screentest. To jump right from A to Z was a pretty daunting experience, and it all happened maybe within the span of a week.”

B&B: CARTER CAN'T QUIT QUINN

Though they’re supposed to be keeping their distance, Carter and Quinn can’t keep their hands off each other, and the guilt is getting the best of Carter. “They just feel safe with each other,” explains Lawrence SaintVictor (Carter). “No matter how much they try to deny each other — and they do try — they just can’t stop. Whatever this is, it is not going to just disappear, and they don’t know how to shake it. It’s impacting their personal lives, and their relationships with their family and friends. They just can’t put a stop to these feelings.”
