“We’ve seen for weeks now that Thomas has been pretty destroyed,” acknowledges his portrayer, Matthew Atkinson. “The closest friend he had in his entire life is gone, and what’s really sad is there is a real sense of being alone that Thomas is dealing with. He has people who support him, but he doesn’t have any intimate relationships in his life. He has no close friendships. The closest people he ever had he pushed away. He’s feeling disconnected and hopeless in a lot of ways.”
