At Christmas, Fern Britton entertained fans by belting out an ABBA number on All Star Musicals. But as she returns to our screens this week to front Channel 5’s Watercolour Challenge, the popular star, who is best known for her years presenting This Morning, is definitely more in her comfort zone.
The show sees four amateur painters competing to capture some of Britain’s finest views against the clock, with episodes in Devon, Yorkshire, South Wales and Cornwall.
The artists have just three hours to capture, in watercolour, the scene before them – from beaches to mountains, castles to railway stations.
Host Fern, 64, offers encouragement, while each week a different professional artist, who acts as both mentor and judge, provides expert tips. We caught up with Fern to hear more.
