ACTRESS TURNED TV COOK LISA FAULKNER TALKS CULINARY SECRETS MARRIAGE TO FOODIE JOHN TORODE AND WHY SHE NEARLY DIDN’T COMPETE IN CELEBRITY MASTERCHEF

Remember the days of endless banana bread and homemade sourdough? Most of us admit we enjoyed love affairs with our kitchens during the first – and even the second – lockdown. Fast forward to the third and it’s safe to say that the culinary well of inspiration has run dry. Even celebrity chef Lisa Faulkner feels the same.

“I don’t know anyone who hasn’t got to the point where it’s like, ‘Ugh, another dinner,’” says Lisa when talking to WW’s Wellness That Works podcast. “After making breakfast and lunch throughout the homeschooling debacle, by the end of the day I really can’t think of anything else to cook,” she adds. “In those moments, a fish finger sandwich is my joy, but I really just want someone else to cook!”

Lisa started out as a model, got into acting and, after winning the Celebrity MasterChef crown, turned cooking into her career. “When I was a model, food wasn’t interesting to me. Actually, it was interesting to me, but not to the modelling agencies. It was a very different time.”
