WHY GO THERE?
If you’ve never heard of the Lincolnshire Wolds in the East Midlands – or if you have, but it hasn’t made it on to your must-do list – you’re not alone. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this lush slice of unspoilt landscape is incredibly hush-hush. But with quaint towns teeming with character, lovely walks and gastro hot spots, it thoroughly deserves recognition. A road trip is the best way to take in the stunning views and expansive skies. Park up at one of the many hiking trails and set off into the wilds for a perfect antidote to modern life. There are some gorgeous beaches in the locality, too, including the popular sands of Skegness and Mablethorpe. All in all, it’s a great destination for families and couples foregoing foreign travel in favour of a UK destination.
