ACTRESS ALI BASTIAN TALKS TO OK! ABOUT THE JOY OF CELEBRATING HER DAUGHTER’S FIRST CHRISTMAS AND HER FAMILY’S PLANS FOR THE BIG DAY

‘BECOMING A MUM HAS DEFINITELY MADE ME MORE FESTIVE'

Former Hollyoaks star Ali Bastian gave birth to her beautiful baby girl Isla back in March, and now she and her husband David O’Mahony are preparing for their first Christmas as a family of three.

Confessing she’s never been one to dive head first into the madness of the festivities, Ali has surprised herself this year as she admits motherhood has given her a new perspective on the holidays.

David is also an actor and she affectionately calls him “Mr Christmas”. Together, they are doing everything they can to make Isla’s first festive season a special one. From decking out the house to making time for each other, Ali is adamant they’ll have a calm and magical 25 December.

When we catch up with Ali, 38, she’s well and truly in the throes of what she calls the “great juggle of family life”. With Isla giggling away in the background, we chat about how motherhood has changed her and we find out how she’s feeling about cooking her first Christmas feast…

Hi Ali, how is little Isla?

She’s perfect, amazing and she’s blown our minds in every way. She’s so special.

How are you feeling ahead of your first Christmas as a family?

In all honesty, I’m not usually the most Christmassy person – but after everything we’ve all been through this year, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s the right time for me to really throw myself into it. Plus, having a baby in the house really brings all the magic back.

So do you think becoming a mum has given you that extra boost of Christmas spirit?
