Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely have come a long way since winning Britain’s Got Talent with their ground-breaking dance troupe Diversity back in 2009.
Since then, the best friends have turned their hands to TV presenting – both solo and as a pair – become reality TV favourites and conquered radio, most recently bagging the Kiss Breakfast slot after winning fans over with their hilarious banter on the station’s weekend show.
As we chat to them about their new day job, it’s clear these two prefer to come as a package. “When it’s me and Pel together, over half your job is made easier,” admits Jordan, 27. “On Kiss, we literally have a conversation as best friends, then turn the music back on. It’s the easiest, most fun job you can get.” Perri, 24, agrees, saying, “It doesn’t feel like work.”
As a dad to Cassius, two, and 12-month-old daughter Mayowa, Jordan tells us he’s used to early starts, but his fiancée Naomi Courts isn’t happy he’s escaping the morning routine! “She’s brewing!” he laughs. The couple got engaged on holiday in the Maldives in January, with Jordan pulling off a romantic beach proposal complete with a “Will u marry me?” sign lit up in flames. Meanwhile, Perri (or “Pel” as Jordan calls him) is just hoping his co-host will stop teasing him on air about his terminally single status.
Here, the duo chat to new about getting starstruck, best man conundrums and their reality TV rivalry…
So, how’s the wedding planning going, Jordan?
