Simon Cowell is set to marry long-term partner Lauren Silverman after popping the question while on holiday in Barbados, it was revealed last week.

And now his showbiz pal Lizzie Cundy has told new that she’s “delighted” for the happy couple – and that marriage will cement their family unit.

“It’s just the best news – what a way to start off the year,” says former WAG Lizzie, 53. “Because of the pandemic and being in lockdown, they’ve grown closer.

“I think being married completes the family,” she continues. “There is something different about being married. It isn’t just a ring on the finger, it’s stability. It makes you feel secure and there’s something special about it. They will grow even closer from it.”
