Too Hot To Handle couple Emily Miller and Cam Holmes talk about life after the Netflix reality show and their plans to settle down
KIRSTY HATCHER

On season two of Netflix reality show Too Hot To Handle, more than 29 million households tuned in to watch Emily Miller and Cam Holmes holding themselves back from getting too intimate in a bid to win $100,000.

The rules for the sexy singles were enforced by Lana, a virtual assistant and Alexa-style device that kept an eye on contestants and deducted money from the prize fund if their antics were deemed rule-breaking.

While Emily, 27, and Cam, 25, struggled at the start, they assure us they took full advantage of not having to live by the show’s rules once filming ended.

“Sometimes it was too much,” laughs Emily. “But we had a lot of making up to do!”

The idea was to leave the show having built more deep and meaningful relationships. Emily and Cam did that and recently celebrated their first anniversary together. Following the show, they moved in together in Emily’s mum’s house. But now they’re excited to exclusively open the doors to their own home – a fabulous two-bedroom apartment in East London.

This time last year Cam was a part-time model and delivering parcels for Hermes in Newport. Emily also dabbled in modelling and was a self-confessed “dosser” – so it’s safe to say their lives have changed quite a bit. Fast forward 12 months and they’ve racked up 3.7 million Instagram followers between them and get invited to events across the country. “I get offended if I’m not invited to something now,” jokes Emily, while Cam adds, “I’m very grateful for the life I’ve got now.”

Here, the couple, now signed to FOMO Models, reveal all about their new home, plans to start a family, and Cam reveals he has a date in mind for proposing…

Hi both! Your apartment is stunning, how are you enjoying life together?

Emily: To have our own place is so different but it’s much better.

Cam: Yeah, it’s much nicer. We feel like real adults now. When we lived at Em’s mum’s she helped us with a lot of stuff. It’s good to have our own space.

Who did the decorating?

Emily: You might be surprised to hear this, but it was actually 50/50. He’s surprisingly good at the whole interior side of things. Sometimes he’s been a bit rogue and bought things without consulting me but then, when they’ve turned up, I’m like, “Oh, actually, yeah, they’re really nice.”

Cam: I’ve always been so excited to have my own place, to decorate it and pick out colour schemes. I think people would think guys don’t really care about interior design, but I love it. I love matching stuff up. I’m all about everything matching.

Emily: I would describe it as OCD. He has got the worst OCD!

Cam: Yeah, cleanliness I’m not so bad with, but organisation I am. I like everything to be put away and for everything to be looking clean on the outside.

Emily: If I get a pen out then go to get a piece of paper, by the time I’ve come back the pen has been put away! I like things tidy but a house is a home, too.

Is that Cam’s worst habit, Emily?
