Fawad Khan- The New Age Khan
Hi!BLITZ|May 2016

Women just can’t get enough of him and after his successful turn in Kapoor & Sons, moviegoers are hungering to see more. Fawad Khan is not only the hottest pin-up boy of Bollywood, he’s also the dapper Khan that everyone is talking about. As he gears up for Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the actor chats with Farhad J Dadyburjor about whether his sex icon image overshadows his acting, how he manages to keep it together with his wife of over ten years and dealing with his stage fright.

Fawad Khan- The New Age Khan

What is the F Factor? Simply mention Fawad Khan’s name and women suddenly go into autopilot mode, sporting a blissed-out smile on their face, the eyes going woozy with desire like one has stumbled on a gooey chocolate five-layered cake. This stretches all the way from excitable teens to sensible grand moms, with the cult of Fawadphiles only growing by the day.

So ask Fawad directly what it feels like to be every woman’s wet dream and he smiles slightly embarrassed. “That’s flattering, what else can I say? It’s very flattering.” Doesn’t he feel all that talk about his looks overshadows his acting capabilities? “If you’re an object of flattery and an icon of sorts, it’s always nice. Great actors have been that,” he says. “Like, look at Papillon which had Steve McQueen. Steve McQueen was one of the greatest sex icons of his time but it never overshadowed his performances. In fact in some scenes he overtook Dustin Hoffman in the film. So it just adds another dimension.”

However, he does admit, “If I’m vain about something, it is my charm. I do consider myself charming, and I can engage people when making conversation. It’s a quality I possess and I proudly flaunt that quality at times.”
