Disha Rising
Hi!BLITZ|December 2016

From the small town of Bareilly to the bright lights of Bollywood, Disha Patani has fast become one of the hottest newcomers to watch for post the success of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. Now starring opposite Jackie Chan, Bollywood’s newest ingénue tells Farhad J Dadyburjor about how life has changed, her fashion inspirations and a certain Tiger in her life.

Disha Rising

How has life changed since the mega success of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story?

Initially I was a little shocked...I knew that people had started to recognise me but then I also experienced what it felt like to be mobbed! It’s been overwhelming and moreover, I now feel more responsible to strive harder to live up to people’s expectations.

You’re considered one of the hottest newcomers. What would you say is your greatest asset?

My willingness to learn and be the best version of myself.

You’ve been spotted painting the town red with Tiger Shroff but still don’t come out about your relationship. Why is that?

We are friends but having said that, he is someone I deeply admire as a person and as a professional.

How crazy has the shift been from Bareilly to Bollywood?

It’s been a roller-coaster ride. I couldn’t have asked for more, having made my debut in a film that paid tribute to one of the country’s biggest icons, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and then soon after to be working with a cinema legend like Jackie Chan at this juncture in my career.
