Vicram Sharma is the picture of health as he relaxes in his stylish villa in Assagao in North Goa. “Ironically enough,” says Vicram, as he sips on an avocado smoothie, “the Covid outbreak has restored people to a far healthier life and lifestyle in many ways. They are eating healthier, fresher, more consciously, at home and, very importantly, with their families.”
Dressed in spotless, white pants and a chic linen shirt, the director of Baidyanath— one of India’s oldest and most-trusted names in Ayurvedic products—looks 15 years younger than his 45 years as he poses for our photographer. “My siblings and I have grown up on daily doses of giloy, chyawanprash and aloe vera,” he laughs when HELLO! compliments him on his youthful looks. “It keeps us fit and healthy. The current crop of kids in the family— my son, my nephews and nieces—are all given giloy and tulsi water, aloe vera and Baidyanath’s balamrit and janam ghutti every day. For our family, Ayurveda is not just the products we manufacture; it’s in our culture, our belief system and our DNA.”
