THE CHARMING YOUNG HEIRESS OF UGANDA’S MOST PROMINENT BUSINESS FAMILY, AND DAUGHTER OF ACTOR MUMTAZ, SHARES HER LOVE FOR ALL THINGS LUXE AND GLAMOROUS
NAYARE ALI
TANYA MADHVANI

Svelte and stylish, Tanya Madhvani personifies haute couture. The daughter of yesteryear star Mumtaz and her Ugandan industrialist husband Mayur Madhvani, the gorgeous heiress—a director with the Madhvani Group—flits across the world, with homes in India, Rome, London, Dubai and, of course, Uganda. She’s married to Italian hotelier Marco Cilia, is a mother of two boys and believes in making an impact on the lives of the underprivileged. As she shoots exclusively for HELLO! all the way from Italy, Tanya shares her love for all things luxury.

How would you define luxury? Luxury is anything that makes you feel pampered and is often the best version of that item or service. Luxury has a feel-good factor and facilitates all those endorphins we crave!

Please share your most luxurious experiences so far. For me, the most luxurious experiences come in two forms. One, when I hear the waves from the bedroom of my beach house by the Indian Ocean in Kenya or sit by the deserted white beach. Two, when I shop in secret rooms that designers save for VIP clients; this is where they cater to all your favourite things (chocolate cake and cappuccino!). Luxury is also when they send their collections to my house, so I can select what I like from the comfort of my home.

You have homes across the world in Rome, London, Dubai, India and Uganda. Which city do you call home? For me, home for now is Rome. It’s where my kids and husband are. It’s the place that brings me comfort. It’s where my setup is. Rome is also where I spend the most time and can unwind between trips for work. It’s where most of my wardrobe is—that’s the true giveaway of where home really is!
