Producer's Take

After a fair game of phone tag, it rings once again and ‘Prerna Arora calling!’ fills the screen. And finally, we get to say HELLO!, but not before Prerna apologises graciously for the delay due to her work commitments.

“With five films due to release by the end of April 2018, work is driving me crazy!” she shares when asked what keeps her so busy. Her upcoming projects include, John Abraham’s Parmanu, Anushka Sharma’s Pari, Akshay Kumar-starrer Padman, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor starrer Fanney Khan, an untitled movie starring Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan and Sara Ali Khan’s much awaited debut film, Kedarnath.

Born and raised amidst the foothills of the Himalayan range in the sparkling city of Dehradun, Prerna spearheads her father, Virendra Arora’s production house, Kriarj Entertainment. An ardent fan of J Omprakash, Yash Chopra and Karan Johar, she shares, “I had a very different upbringing. Unlike the kids in metro cities like Mumbai, in Dehradun, it was all closed doors. We weren’t exposed to the media, not even allowed to watch TV or read magazines.” It was much later that she saw her very first film – Anil Kapoor’s Mr. India – on a video cassette.
